We had basically given up on coming out because we just couldn't come up with money or anything to go to vacation. But with the job opportunity he will work almost 3 weeks out here and then take off a few days for vacation! YAY!
Our plane tickets were all stand by...scary with two kids not knowing if you are going to make the first flight...second flight....third flight...but we were VERY lucky and made both of the flights we wanted.
Our trip started out with the drive down to SLC. We stopped at our friends house to catch up and give the girls a little break from the car. Then we went to Katrina's house (she is the reason we were able to come out, get the tickets, etc) THANK YOU KATRINA!!! She then drove us to the airport and told us how stand by works, what to expect, etc. We checked our luggage, went through security (this is all for an 1130pm flight to JFK airport) and were waiting for the plane to board, after they board all the passengers then they start calling up stand by people. If they call your name, you made it, if not...you roll over to the next flight (which for us would have been in 24 hours).
We were the last people called. They said hurry up put your luggage up and sit down so we can take off. We walked in the doors of the airplane, with them shutting right behind us, put up our luggage, sat down and almost didn't have the seatbelt on before moving! Normally this wouldn't be hard...but with two carry-ons each, two diaper bags and two children....it was a little more difficult!
WE made the first flight YAY! We then had a 2 1/2 hour lay over at JFK (New York)and again were the LAST people on the plane. This time they let us put two of our carry-ons down with the stroller and we were able to fit the others at our feet!
The amazing thing about this trip is the girls were AMAZING! The first flight they slept the whole time, sure with i could have....but I was so swollen (arms and legs) I could hardly move! The second flight Haylee slept the whole time and Rylee ate most of the time and was just awake and a little squirmy, but nothing hard at all! YAY!
Anyway we have been here now since Tuesday and are having so much fun. I am missing my family very much but it is good to talk to mom on the phone!!! Here are some pictures so far from being out here! Haylee is loving all the attention and play mates!!! She is definately a social girl!
