Haylee Mae Hartman has arrived!

Here is a picture of when I was around 35ish weeks pregnant.

On Friday the 22 I had my weekly check up and was between 1 and 2 centimeters dialated and 50% effaced. Which some women are at for a few weeks so I wasn't worried or thinking it was coming. Christopher then kept asking if I thought we would make it to my next appointment.

So I woke up all night with contractions from Sat to Sun and then went to church for the first time in a while, made it through two hours and was SOOOO done. Christopher and I got home and started timing the contractions. We were told that after they were five minutes apart for an hour to call in... so after an hour and a half we did and they said wait to see if it goes away because sometimes the baby just wont let up for a few hours but then is fine. So we went to my parents house to see if I could get my mind on something else...After another 2 1/2 hours (total 4 now of counting) we decided to go to the hospital because they weren't letting up and were getting closer together.

We got to the hospital and I was told to walk around the hospital for 2 hours coming back ever little bit to time contractions with the computer and check on the baby. If after that I didn't progress they would send me home because they didn't want to rush anything because I was only 37 weeks. After the two hours of walking I made it to 3 centimeters so they admitted me to the labor and delivery area.

I was given the IV and the epidural and went to 6 centimeters and 75% effaced pretty quickly and then sat there at that for like 12 hours. Where in that time they gave me sleeping medication to have me relax more and hope the baby moves down. They also gave me pitocin. In the middle of this I started thinking I could feel my legs like normal again slowly. I asked Christopher if the epidural drip thing was low, he said it looked like it was and went to ask a nurse. She said it would beep telling them when it needs replaced. Shortly after it did and they called the epidural guy and by the time he came it had been empty for like 10-15 minutes. A little before he got back I could feel everything again, which we thought was because of the stuff running out. After being on the new bag for a while and still feeling everything (very very painful by the way) they came back to check and my epidural had fallen out in one of my vomiting episodes. Luckily by now I was still around 6 or 7 so they were able to give me another epidural.

After the pitocin and sleep stuff wasn't working to progress me the doctor came in to check me and broke my water. After that it wasn't very long until it was time to push. Luckily when that time came it didn't last long. They kept telling me it could take 2 to 3 hours specially because it was my first baby. I only pushed maybe 30 minutes and Haylee Mae Hartman was born on Monday May 25, 2009.

Haylee was 5 pounds 9 ounces and 18 inches long! After she was put on my tummy and after I was stitched up I don't remember anything for a few hours. The sleepy stuff worked then! But in those few hours Haylee was tested 3 or 4 times for her blood sugar which was still low so they put her in the nursery for that and to help keep her temperature up. She stayed there for the first 2-3 days then was able to room up with me and Christopher for her last night. I guess we roomed with her since I was discharged Wednesday but able to stay with Haylee until Thursday.

Thursday late morning we were able to go home!

During all of this Robbie and Ashlee (brother and sister in law) were here Sunday but had to go home that night because of work, they came back Monday to see the baby! It was so great having them come back for the baby! Kristen (my cousin) was also able to come by which was awesome! We had some other visiters like Cortney and Robby and Shawn and Calley. We also got flowers sent from Aly Willis and Cortney and Robby bought some as well! My mom, dad and Braden my little brother were there much of the time as well! It is so fun to see how excited my parents are to be grandparents! And Braden and Robbie to be uncles!

Mom as a baby and Baby Haylee

I know I have pictures of Kristen with Haylee as well but they don't seem to be on my computer yet. Oh and I did not proof read any of this post...SORRY I'm sure it is probably confusing!
