The Escape of the Turtle!

So on Sunday I was on the computer and I turned around to watch our turtles for a minute... then I was counting them and kept only counting 6 and we have 7. So then I thought it was because of the angle I was at which was dumb becuase that would make me count more with the double look and not less.

So I next text Christopher to find out if one had died that i didn't know about and he said no... then I asked if we had 7 turtles...because maybe I made that up since my memory is bad right now but he said yeah. So then I was like ...well one's missing again! (one got lost and died back before we had the aquarium and they were in this bucket thing...) When Chris got home we looked around for a bit trying to figure out how one would get out of the aquarium and man you think they are stupid turtles but not always!

Anyway while looking for the turtle I was moving things around looking under and around them, then I jokingly said " oh he probably fell in this bucket" which is full of other little bucket things and what do you know there he is...all dried up and looking quite dead.

So we thought he was dead...I left with mom and Braden to do some stuff while Christopher was home and I got a call a little later saying that he revived the turtle. He said when he picked up the turtle he slowly sucked in his back legs in..which dead turtles don't do. So Christopher decided to put the turtle in water. Then he put him in the tank on the floating dock where he moved some and sank down to the bottom of the tank. Later he was swimming around just fine with the rest of the turtles. Evidently he wasn't dead just a bit dry...any longer and he would have been a gonner!

So how in the world did the turtle get out of the aquarium??? Well the turtles climb on this floating dock thing we have in there and stack 3 to 4 high sometimes. well the floating dock is not secured to the side of the aquarium, it just wonders and it would have had to turn sideways to get stuck and then have the turtles stack on top of each other to reach the top of the aquarium and climb out this hole next to the filter. The turtle then had to climb over the light bump thing on top of the aquarium and go to the end of the aquarium to fall off into the bucket.... the weird part is that is the ONLY way it could have happened. There is no other hole on top and no other way to the bucket!

Now ever since I swear the turtles are staring at that hole whenever they are on the dock!
